Acknowledging Compute Ontario and the Digital Research Alliance of Canada

Ontario researchers who use publicly funded Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) resources are requested to acknowledge the support of Compute Ontario and our national partner, the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance), when publishing research results and, wherever possible, when publicizing the research through media, web sites, social media, conference presentations and the like. Acknowledgment of the use of DRI resources is critical in ensuring these resources remain funded and accessible to researchers.

Publicly funded DRI resources include:

• Computing and storage capacity on national systems (Nibi, Trillium, Arbutus, Rorqual, Narval, Fir)

• Visualization, data management, support, and software services and other expertise provided through SHARCNET, HPC4Health, the Centre for Advanced Computing or SciNet

• Training offered through Compute Ontario, SHARCNET, SciNet, HPC4Health, the Centre for Advanced Computing or the Alliance, such as the Compute Ontario Summer School

• Technical support for the above

The exact wording of the acknowledgment may vary, but please ensure both Compute Ontario and the Alliance are mentioned, as in the following example:

“This research was enabled in part by support provided by Compute Ontario (computeontario.ca) and the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (alliancecan.ca).“

Notification of Acknowledgment

Please notify Compute Ontario of any acknowledgments, which provide us with valuable evidence that helps us to build a compelling case for long-term and sustainable funding for DRI.

We are also interested in helping showcase your success stories on our website, social media and in our annual report.
